Monitoring HP-UX and Oracle with SNMP
Hello Guru,
I have many HP-UX 11.23 server. Also, i have MOM server used to monitor ms box and HP-UX server.
Now, MOM receive SYSLOG messages from HP-UX and SNMP Trap.
I want to monitor HPUX performance. I have tried EMS but i don't find any performance oriented template (just if the volume is up or not, nic,etc...)
Can i configure HP-UX SNMP to send trap about performance (CPU, disks...)
also what about Oracle ? can i use SNMP to send trap for monitoring performance ?
Thanks

Re: Monitoring HP-UX and Oracle with SNMP
There is no way to monitor system & database performances with "standard SNMP".
You have the choice between :
- buy, install & configure MWA (now HP OV Performance Agent) to use snmp,
- buy, install & configure HP OV Management Agent to use snmp,
- buy, install & configure any other Management Agent for hpux (Bull, BMC, etc).

They say "install windows 2k, xp or better", so i install unix !
