I'm looking for suggestions on what the most user friendly monitoring tools for HP-UX are.
Monnitoring to show system resource activity and issue alerts if there is a problem.
Thanks

Re: monitoring tools
You are just monitoring the system rsources then you can use openview-IT operations .
NNM is used for network management.
Also perfview can be integrated with ITO for monitoring resources and applications.
check
http://openview.hp.com
for more information
Thanks

Re: monitoring tools
A while ago I issued (almost) the same question :
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x4fbb506d69a7d711abdc0090277a778c,00.html
Openview is the overall for a tool like glance. Openview however is the overall management for many modules.
Please look at logsurfer for reading your syslog.log file !! It's a very handy tool that can help you out when systems have problems, you can set them up to mail a pattern matching line as an error to any e-mail adress you set up.
It's for free and easy to install. I have all the needed info and config, just let me know if you're interested.

Re: monitoring tools
You can use the Event Monitoring Service (EMS) for monitoring your system resources.
For more information, refer to:
Event Monitoring Services Manual
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B7612-90015/B7612-90015.html
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Hemanth
