Ya sorry i meant A6795A, as said N-class would support upto 12 adapters under 11.0, a better picture can been seen from http://www.hp.com/products1/unixserverconnectivity/storagesnf2/adapter15/specifications/index.html

Re: More on the subject...

I think you are in good shape with the N class and the two adapters recommended.

Assuming they are both certified for the N class(I'll take my friends word for it tonight), you can hook into multiple sans.

There is a lun limit on certain disk arrays of 8 per card, but HP is supposedly working on raising that limit. Maybe they already have.

Hi again and thanks for the replys,

O.K, if the card works with the N-class will it be O,K with the IBM SAN ?

Re: More on the subject...

I think you will be on your own if you use the HP cards and IBM SAN. HP support their SAN from the driver on the HP-UX server, to the card then SAN and storage device. If you use an IBM SAN on your HP what are you going to do if you have problems ?

HP will say the HP card and driver are ok - the SAN is nothing to do with them (its IBM's) IBM will say the SAN is ok - its an HP driver/card/server problem.

And youre going to have catch-22.

I would not want to run this environment in production because of this lack of clearly defined support issue.

Re: More on the subject...

Hi,
Stefan you're right about the support. The IBM documents mention that all HP N,L,V classes are supported (There are drivers for the tape library and robotic arms). K-classes aren't spported. (Note:IBM stated that the card A5158A not supported).

So I guess it's now up to us to find out if this works or not...
