Re: Mount HP MSA30 storage array

Hi,
HBA or SmartArray controller ? ioscan should show. If SmartArray, sautil should be available.
Single/multiple server connections ?

Have you looked at:

Re: Mount HP MSA30 storage array

Shalom,

The MSA-30 is a scsi device. All you need to do is hook it up and see that there are no conflicts with the SCSI ID of other hardware connected to the system.

You can not according to the old document I have boot an HP-UX system off an MSA-30.

After the disk is connected the process is normal.

pvcreate
vgextend or vgcreate
lvcreate
newfs if you want a filesystem.

Re: Mount HP MSA30 storage array

You can boot off an MSA-30 just fine. I use two MSA-30s as my boot disks on a Superdome server (mirroring across). They are setup as dual-channels (meaning there are 7 disks on each channel).
