MS proxy server 2.0 and HPUX Workstations and Linux
All,
I work mostly in an MS Shop, unfortunately and they have just installed MS Proxy server 2.0 and my HPUX 10.20 workstation and my Redhat 7.2 PC can not use the Proxy server to get out to the web.
When I first try, it prompts me for authentication, which is cool, but then it times about after about 45 seconds of trying to get out the web.
What do I do next, besides move to Unix shop ;-)?

Re: MS proxy server 2.0 and HPUX Workstations and Linux
Nick,
When they aren't looking load linux on their M$ box.
Why would anyone implement an obsolete product?
Microsoft Proxy Server has been discontinued . But you can still find detailed product information, downloads, and support options that will help you get the most out of your Proxy Server installation. You can also move to ISA Server. ISA Server goes far beyond Proxy Server by delivering a full-featured enterprise firewall and a high performance Web cache server. Learn why to migrate from Proxy Server to ISA Server and find out how.

Nick, does the proxy server have a clue about your HP's hostname and IP? Also, do they have the port's opened up, that you are trying to get out on?

Re: MS proxy server 2.0 and HPUX Workstations and Linux
Thanks for your reply.
I am told that the Proxy server doesn't need to know about the Unix IP address.
Also, Port 80 has to be open already as the M$ clients are already getting out.
