Nagios-Plugins and NRPE available for IA64 B.11.23?
Hi,
haven't been aware that we have an Itanium HP server so far.
This even being an OmniBack server makes it more important to monitor it more thoroughly than by a mere check_host.
Thus, I want to install the nrpe daemon together with the Nagios Plugins on it.
Unfortunately, I couldn't discover a compiler for this paltform on the host itself.
So I tried to download HPs' nagios depot for 11.23 that is distributed as part of the Internet Express but was only sent a,
"We are unable to process your order."
Even if they hadn't been unable to process my order, I am not yet sure whether this depot wil l be installable and executable on IA?
Does anyone happen to run an NRPE host on an HP IA 11.23 platform?
Regards
Ralph

Re: Nagios-Plugins and NRPE available for IA64 B.11.23?
Ralph,
I just tried it now from software.hp.com and was able to start the download...what browser are you using - you know some HP websites can be difficult with anything except IE?
The depots for 11.23 and 11.31 Internet express contain both IA and PA binaries.
HTH

Re: Nagios-Plugins and NRPE available for IA64 B.11.23?
Hi Duncan,
I have tried this morning several times again with different browsers (IE included)
but I still get the "We are unable to process your order."
At least it is comforting to know that the depot shall contain binaries for PARISC as well as IA.
I discovered an Internet Express Sept 2006 DVD for 11.23 in my stock pile of HP CDs/DVDs.
I will have to check if Nagios was already part of the IX collection in 2006.
I can remember to only have discovered it relatively recently in the bundle.

Re: Nagios-Plugins and NRPE available for IA64 B.11.23?
Finally, yesterday I received an email notification that the requested depot was now available within the next couple of hours.
So I could successfully finish the download of the IExpress Nagios depot and install it on the IA64 B.11.23
Nevertheless, I still got a problem.
Although there are the major Nagios Plugins included in the bundle, NRPE is completely missing.
Can someone tell me where to get this binary for this platform.
By the way, was it possible to pick precompiled SW packages for one of the Linux distros for the Itanium64 platform?
Would they be binary compatible and thus executable on B.11.23?
# uname -msr
HP-UX B.11.23 ia64
# swlist Nagios|tail -8
# Nagios A.09.00-2.9.004 Nagios a host/service/network monitoring program
Nagios.NAGIOS-CONF A.09.00-2.9.004 Nagios Configuration Files
Nagios.NAGIOS-DOC A.09.00-2.9.004 Nagios Document Files
Nagios.NAGIOS-LOG A.09.00-2.9.004 Nagios Log Files
Nagios.NAGIOS-RUN A.09.00-2.9.004 Nagios Executable Files
Nagios.NAGIOS-SHA A.09.00-2.9.004 Nagios Share Files
Nagios.NAGIOS-SRC A.09.00-2.9.004 Nagios Source Files
