NAT or IP Masquarding using HP-UX 10.X or 11.X

Is it possible to implement NAT or IP Masquarding using generic HP-UX 10.X or HP-UX 11.X? According to Corporate, LINUX is not secure enough to be put to use for this function and it must be done using either NT (of which I know nothing being a UNIX admin) or HP-UX.
What is it that possesses otherwise sane individuals to change something just because it has not been changed in a while?

Hi,

When I think about NAT, the first thing that came across my mind is a firewall. You will usually need firewall software to perform NAT.

In my environment, we use Checkpoint FW-1 on Solaris to do NAT for the systems protected behind the Firewall. NAT takes up a considerable amount of CPU resources.

I am not sure though if Raptor firewall on HP-UX perform NAT.

Hope this helps. Regards.

Steven is correct, there is no native NAT or IP masquerading on the HP OS. You can check out
