Re: Need a suggestion
It depends on your interest. Storage is a very good technology and pay. For HP relates storage, here is a link : http://www.hp.com/country/us/en/prodserv/storage.html
Also, you can take a look at EMC's storage offerings, http://www.emc.com/products/platforms.jsp

SolutionI think you must know basic for storage. if you know basic i think whatever your storage it will be same.
the basic knowledge are:
1. Raid level ex. mirror, striping, etc etc.
2. san configuration like zoning, topology 3. LVM, or veritas volume manager.
4. troubleshooting problem.
HP Have storage from low end ( MSA30, MSA 1000 , etc etc ) until high end ( XP12000).
thanks
Freddy

Re: Need a suggestion
HP has a good set of disk storages from low to high end (MS -> XP )and the exact storage level and type strongly depends upon your site or customer needs. If you (and your bosses) prefer HP, you can take an HP storage course.
According to my personal impressioin HP storages are not the best ones in high scalable systems. I persomally prefer NetApp. For volumes from handres GB until up some TBytes they are very easy to use.

Re: Need a suggestion
Storage is always an area to learn, if you want to specialized then I recommended you think twice, you really have to like hardware side to get deep into storage, really nice area, but specializing in an area that does not really create a passion might not be the right approach.
This link will guide you to everything in storage http://www.hp.com/sbso/busproducts_storage.html
Also if you have a product that you want to learn go to docs.hp.com and do a search on the product and will get completed documentation on it.
Regards,
Jaime.
