Need driver for Realtek 8139 based PCI network adapter for HP-UX 11.0
I recently installed a Realtek based 8139 PCI network card on a HP9000 A400 server running on HP-UX 11.0.
ioscan commands shows that the device is UNCLAIMED.
The manufacturer only provides drivers for Linux,
Unixware 7.2.x, Solaris 7, 8, 9 and 10
Beta rtls driver (V1.20) for Sun Solaris Express users.
FreeBSD
Slackware 8.0 (kernel 2.2.19 and 2.4.5)
SCO Unix 5.0.X.
I need help to find a suitable driver.
Thank you.

Re: Need driver for Realtek 8139 based PCI network adapter for HP-UX 11.0
No, IMHO you need to find a supported NIC.
HP-UX drivers won't work with unsupported cards.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

http://docs.hp.com/en/supportmatrixEthernetver2.pdf/supportmatrixEthernetver2.pdf
Be aware, there is not statement about HP-UX 11.00, because this OS version is unsupported since end 2006.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Need driver for Realtek 8139 based PCI network adapter for HP-UX 11.0
11.0 being past its End Of Life (EOL) date (IIRC) you should consider an upgrade to a newer rev of HP-UX. That wouldn't get you a Realtek driver, but it would get you on an OS rev for which patches are still being produced.
Also, while it isn't a "supported" OS, there is PA-RISC Linux <> which would run on an A400 and on which you could probably compile and run Realtek's Linux driver.
