I am trying to understand the output of following commands:
vgdisplay -v
lvdisplay -v
pvdisplay -v
but I do not have a test system to work on these configurations.
I would be very grateful if someone can send me output for following cases:
1. Simple 'concat' type volume
- no RAID functionality
- a volume that spans 2 PVs (PEs from 2 PVs are just concatented to form this LV)
2. Striped volume
3. Mirrored volume
4. Mirrored volume with LE-based striping
I need to reconstruct the LE-PE mapping, so the -v option for the lvdisplay, pvdisplay commands would be really useful!
If the output is too big, could you please email it to me at nikhilim
With best regards,
Nikhil

Re: Need help in LVM sample command output
Logical volume simply concatanated over multiple volumes (4) as its keeps growing!
was wrong (it was for an lvol on the distributed [striped+mirrored] lvol). Here is the correct output for a simple logical volume over multiple physical disis.
