Netscape VERY slow on HP-UX 11

I have Netscape 4.77 (downloaded from Netscape.com, the newest they had listed for HP-UX 10.20) installed on some HP-UX 11.00 machines, and it is extremely slow to start.
That is, it takes several minutes before any windows show up. They eventually do, and then the program works fine. Is there some kind of
timeout here?

Any help would be appreciated,

You downloaded the 56bit encryption version (4.77), right ? the 128bit version comes up with file not found when attempting to download from Netscape. Im still downloading it, will test and get back to you tomorrow.

No, the download page says 128bit encryption. I downloaded the HP-UX 10.20 version. Are you having trouble downloading that one?

If I try to download the 128 bit version it says Netscape is unable to find the file or directory named;
/archive/communicator/english/4.7/unix/communicator-v47us.hppa1.1-hp-hpux1020.tar.gz

I can download the 56 bit version aok. Which link are you using to download the 128bit version ? can you let me know ?

Hi Kathryn,

thanks for the link, downloaded and installed aok. Fired it up for the first time, took < 15 seconds before main window up and running. No problems at all. It actually looks faster than the older version I was using. Im running it on a C200 (200Mhz cpu), 256 MB RAM, running HP-UX 11/64bit.

Whats the spec of the box your running it on ?
