NETWORK CARD

Hi experts,

Currently we are using rx6600 server (application and database).

We found one of the network not function and we plan to replace the card.

I want to know is that whether plug and play or we need to do any configuration on it before or after the installtions.

What about the ips we to reconfigure back...?

All configuration remains except the switch is configured to handle (somehow) the MAC address.

This is a dual port network card in slot 6. The ERROR means the hardware is faulty.

so change the cards and put at same slot should'nt affect ip and configuration?

"olrad -q" (or "rad -q" in some older HP-UX version) is a good way to see it, if the command is supported.

In older HP-UX models, where such commands don't exist, the only way to know the slot number is to find a hardware path <-> slot map in the server documentation. It should allow you to identify which slot a particular hardware path each slot is associated with.

In many HP-UX servers, the hardware path information is also listed in stickers next to each slot.
