I have a problem of configuring network interface card for k420. O/S is HP-UX 11.0. I can not ping the default gateway. ioscan and lanscan result is in the attachment.

Can you attach your "ioscan -fn" output. Have you installed the software for the lan card from the application CD 1.

The unclaimed state of the cards indicates that you haven't loaded the appropriate driver. FOr the 'btlan1' card this should be product A3495A (and J2759BA) from the Application CDROM (#1, I think).
Once done, configure '/etc/rc.config.d/hpbasetconf' too.

It should be either the one mentioned by SK Chan or the software should be A3495A. This software is on hp ux 11.0 application CD 1. The actual software to be installed by you is depenent on the hp part code for the network card on your system. Look at the back of the card, you should see a number over there. The part code decides which software is required.

However, if you are plugged into the other card(s), you need to load the drives as stated above.
