new names for HP servers
Hi,
How will I know the model of the server with the new HP naming conversions for the L, N-class, etc servers? Before, I use the command model to now the server, with the rpXXXX, would it appear on the new servers with command model? Or do I need a patch?
BR,
Edmund

Re: new names for HP servers
Hi,
Good question.
May be HP will address this issue.
New Names for the L-Class!
A6797B N/A hp server rp5430
A6144B hp 9000 L3000 hp server rp5470
A5576B hp 9000 L1000 hp server rp5400
A5191B hp 9000 L2000 hp server rp5450
new name old name product number
As of November 1st, 2001, the L-Class server will have a new name. The naming convention for all
HP servers is changing in order to simplify the identification of server products across HP. Although
schedules will differ, all HP servers, including those supporting Windows and Linux will be moving to
the new naming convention.

Re: new names for HP servers
Hi,
I just finished installing an rp5450 (L2000) and the model command still states:
9000/800/L2000-5X
I can not find a resolving patch for this.

Re: new names for HP servers
There is no patch for this. This info is stored in stable storage which is done from ssconfig. Ssconfig can only be ran by HPCE personnel.
