I'm looking for some advice as I cannot get our new rp3410 hardware to boot.
It is literally unpacked out of the box.
I have connected two power supplies and a GB network cable. The only other thing I have done is connected a null modem cable into the "management console" port, and connected this to an HP term.
When I power it on, the power LEd turns green, but the system LED flashes yellow (flashes once a sec).
I have also tried connecting to the management port using Hyper Terminal - but have not had any luck.
Am I missing something which is supposed to be done?
Thanks

Re: new rp3410 will not boot up first time
Insert a Core OS cd-dvd in the cd-dvd drive.
Turn it on with the null modem cable attached to the connector marked console. You are better off in this instance with a dumb terminal.
interupt at the 10 second prompt
sea
bo P1
If P1 is the cd-dvd drive, it make take several tries.

Re: new rp3410 will not boot up first time
Read the following:
http://www.docs.hp.com/en/A7137-96001-en/A7137-96001-en.pdf
Chapter 4
You need to configure the MP, before you can install the server.
You can either configure the com-port or attached a laptop to the server with a cross-cable. Configure the ILO-Lan port with a ip-address, based on the MAC-address.

Re: new rp3410 will not boot up first time
So the server was booting, I just couldnt see it because I had no condole prompt, and as it was the first boot, it had no network configured.
Once I got another cable made up, I was able to see the MP prompt, and clear the error light.
Thanks again for replying.
