New to HP Forums

Hi guys,

I am new to HP-UX. Could you guys help me in studying HP-UX. First of all, I would like to know whether HP-UX is downloadable freely and available in x-86 like sun solaris. Becoz, I don't have any HP machine to practice to commands, if that is free of download and x-86, i can download and install it in my machine and can practice the commands.

Thanks and Regards,
S.Thiyagu.

Re: New to HP Forums

Sorry, the answer is no and no. HP-UX is not freely downloadable and only runs on PA-RISC or Itanium architectures.

Re: New to HP Forums

Hi:

Welcome. I'm sorry, but HP-UX is neither free nor available on commodity hardware.

You can usually find some old servers or workstations for sale on ebay. You might look there.

Regards!

Re: New to HP Forums

Hi there.
If you have Linux on your system, you can train most of the Unix commands. If you then go to a HP-UX system, there are only some differences. I did it the other way, no problem.

Hi

Unfortunately HPUX is not a freeware and you can use could buy a book on HPUX,there are quite a few of them in the market.

Also could you take sometime to assign points to your questions since people are taking time to answer your questions.
