New to Hp-Ux 11.31

I have a c7000 blade enclosure, and ont he blades is hp-ux 11.31.

I attached an external dvdrom to the blade and I cannot get it to mount the device.

The device files look VERY odd to me with ioscan -fnCdisk it shows:

/dev/deviceFileSystem/Usb/MaddStorage/dsk/disk@UnknownDevice-1356+797=DEF10C1F6CBF


How do I mount this device????

What would my entry on the FSTAB look like??

Am I overthinking this?

This is the device files created based on the old USB 1.1 driver - update to USB 2.0 driver now!

Torsten, here is the issue, even if I download this, I have no network connectivity to the box (DoD regulations I can't have network access until I have updated the server completely). I only have ILO and console access so I would have to install it off of the device drivers that are already there anyway.

Assuming your device file looks like this:

you need to use it with mount:

# mount /dev/deviceFileSystem/Usb/MassStorage/dsk/disk@hp-1008+294=A60020000001 /cdrom



With USB2.0 you get again a cxdytz file.

I doubt about this "unknowndevice" in your device file.
What 11.31 release do you have?

Consider to use the virtual DVD meanwhile.

How would I use a virual dvd when I have no network connectivity and no was (other than the dvdrom drive) to get the install packaged onto the machine?
