Re: new user id not to ask to change password

Hi Almond,

You can do it via SAM.

SAM>Accounts for Users and Groups>Users>Actions>Add...user and there would be an option"Set Password Options..."Password Options>down arrow...Click the option>Allow Only Super-User To Change Password

Re: new user id not to ask to change password

hi again

actually the restriction of changing password of a user won't controlled by SAM.

the password change has been done using the command

#passwd

the command reside in /usr/bin directory and set the UID bit, that any user change their password. If you ommit the UID bit from /usr/bin/passwd , no user can change their password.

you can check this now.

have fun!!!!!!

Re: new user id not to ask to change password

Dear Almond
if u are giving for an user
u should use passwd then username
for example if u user is almond
passwd almond
if u created a new user name
after that if u are giving just #passwd then it will change root passwd
so should careful about it

then enter then u will get anothter window
from there u can use arrow key to get others options i mean
