NFS mounting problem

Hi All!!!!

I have an HP9000 K360 server with 11.00 loaded on it . I had to replace the root disk due to system crash . after replacing the disk i have restored the root backup from tape . Now if I am trying to mount a remote file system through NFS it is comming out with following error .
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Unresolved symber:__libnsl_is_variable_set (code) from /sbin/fs/nfs/mount

mount:mount: terminated abnormally

if anybody has come accross the same problem pls help me ..

Thanks In Advance

Re: NFS mounting problem

Hi,
Try loading this patch
PHSS_21947 "linker tools cumulative patch".

The tape you used for restore from same server?

You can compare with this output and let us know if it is different.

#cd /sbin/fs/nfs
#root->ll
-r-xr-xr-x 1 bin bin 45056 Sep 21 2000 mount
-r-xr-xr-x 1 bin bin 24576 Sep 21 2000 umount

#root->cksum mount
2532338387 45056 mount
#root->file mount
mount: PA-RISC1.1 shared executable dynamically linked
Did you take a backup?

Re: NFS mounting problem

hi,

Are you able to mount the remote filesystem from another system? This is just to make sure the NFS server end is OK.

Are the NFS client daemons running on your system? Do /sbin/init.d/nfs.client stop
and /sbin/init.d/nfs.client start .

How did you restore your root disk? Was it from Ignite ? or did you install O/S and restore the other files from backup tape?
Dont you have a mirror disk for root? (it is helpful to have one).
