Looking for some feedback on using an NFS mount to share data between a HP-UX 10.20 server and a windows 2000 server
any bugs, quirks, problems i should be aware of?

Hi James:
I've done it both ways with the Windows box being a server and with the Windows box being a client. It works well but some of the gotchas are windows user/unix user id mapping. With some implementations you have to build a table of UNIX uid's/gid's to their Windows counterparts. Other implementations can read the NIS maps and do this for you - if the names can be matched. When sharing text files, remember there is no magic bullet to automatically do the CR/LF -> LF conversions for you. One commercial product that offers both an NFS client and an NFS server for Windows is Xlink. http://www.xlink.com
You might also look into Samba as an alternative.

I agree with Clay, that samba is a great alternative, especially when you get your HPux boxes up to HPux 11i.
