what defines the value of "t" in device file
cxtxdx in case of a model 20 disk array .
i am going to creat 5 luns on a model20 array
connected to controller c3 and c7
i think d's value will be 0,1,2,3,and 4 .
can any one tell me about "t"

Re: NIKE20 device file

This is your scsi target address, so you will have devices you create (LUN's) that will be lun 1 scis address 2 instance (controller) 3 gives you c3t2d1
lun3 scsi address 2 instance 3=c3t2d3

Re: NIKE20 device file

I just used that as an example.
when you set up the array to present LUN's to the outside world, you need to set the scsi/lun address so this is up to you.

Re: NIKE20 device file

Hi,

In the case as yours the cxtydz, y will be the scsi id of the storage processor on the disk array. That means if the Card Instance is 4, The SCSI ID on the Card is 7, the SCSI ID on the Storage Processor (SP-A or SP-B) is 0 and the LUN are 0,1,2 then the device files you'll see for the LUN's would be c4t0d0, c4t0d1 and c4t0d2.

Hope this helps
