NIS is not showing

In SAM I am unable to see NIS option in my NIS master server.

Q1) what could be the reason

Q2) How do i change my NIS userA's home in command line?

simply change by using using usermod command and when done do as follows

#cd /var/yp
#make all

Hi,

If NIS is active then

cd /var/yp
make Makefile

If NIS is not active then

domainname my_domain
ypinit -m
vi /etc/rc.config.d/namesvrs
NIS_MASTER_SERVER=1
NIS_CLIENT=1
NIS_DOMAIN=domain_name

if it is disable in SAM , it means your NIS master server is not configured . you need to create the master server first by using the comand provided above and than you can use it .

Dear All,

My master server is working fine with out any issues as well as my slave server is also working fine. All my NIS users are able to login and work. I have all the settings properly in both the machines. Only thing is i am unable to manage NIS user accounts using SAM.

what os do you have?
You're logged in at the master server as root?
And if you open SAM you can see 'Accounts for Users and Groups'?
But you don't see 'NIS Users'?

What does 'ypwhich' says?
What's you're latest SAM patch?
