NIS+

NIS+

I am receiving some errors in the syslog.log on NIS+:

Mar 7 16:40:19 vacppa nisd[673]: _svcauth_des: invalid timestamp received from unix.101@bcs.bls.com
Mar 7 16:40:50 vacppa nisd[673]: _svcauth_des: timestamp is earlier than the one previously seen from unix.vacppa@bcs.bls.com
Mar 7 16:41:21 vacppa nisd[673]: _svcauth_des: invalid timestamp received from unix.109@bcs.bls.com
Mar 7 16:41:30 vacppa nisd[673]: _svcauth_des: timestamp is earlier than the one previously seen from unix.vacpp1@bcs.bls.com
Mar 7 16:41:35 vacppa nisd[673]: _svcauth_des: invalid timestamp received from unix.101@bcs.bls.com
Mar 7 16:40:20 vacppa syslog: authdes_refresh: keyserv(1m) is unable to encrypt session key

Any ideas on how to resolve?

Thanx

Re: NIS+

It appears that these messages can be seen if there could be a discrepancy between the clocks (masters 7 slaves) or if the clock is being changed or perhaps some other delays - like potentially packets arriving out of
order at the destination.

this message is harmless.
