No CDE login if network cable is not connected
Hi
I manage to get the CDE login prompt if the network cable is connected
I reboot the workstation without the network cable connected and what I get is the grey X windows background without the CDE login screen. How should I configure the workstation such that it can have CDE without the network connection?

Re: No CDE login if network cable is not connected
Hi Kenny,
True, you can start your system as a standalone system.
check your /etc/hosts file should contain.
127.0.0.1 localhost loopback your_host_name
# touch /var/adm/standalone
reboot you host.
Hope this helps,
Robert-Jan

Re: No CDE login if network cable is not connected
Hey,
there is some problem with resolvin hostname,
check if hostname is set correctly in /etc/hosts. If this is no issue, try
/usr/contrib/bin/X11/dr_dt maybe this will help....; also check /var/dt/Xerrors and /var/X11/Xserver/logs.
Hope this will help you
