NO HW for 1 disk

HELP.
I have a jamaca rack that is giving me fit's.
I get NO HW for a particular disk (c8t1d0).
I have replaced this disk 3 different times.
I have replaced cables, & I have just replaced
the jamaca rack it's self. Yet from time to
time I get NO HW for this c8t1d0 disk. If I
re-seat the disk it will come back for awhile.

Any other thoughts?

I have 2 jamaca's filled with 18gb drives running off an L-3000 server.

THANK YOU.

One thing is that it could be a problem with another device on the same bus.

If you had a device whose addressing was going flaky, you might have two devices trying to answer to the same thing and this device being blocked.

For instance if c8t5d0 was somehow ignoring the "4" bit in its address, it might think it was c8t1d0 and try to answer.

Might want to have HP run diagnostics on your other disks in the same bus to eliminate a problem there.

Re: NO HW for 1 disk

Hi,

Looks like the port on the storage is bad. Moving this disk to a different slot in the storage could solve your problem on a permanent basis.

Hope this helps.
