no monitor on boot-up - C1000
We bought a C1000 with a Visualize-FX2 graphic card.
We connected this machine with an old monitor A4033 (using an adapter HP 1253-0635). During boot-up the monitor went into stand-by without displaying anything.
The LCD display shows the message
"Firmaware 4.8 Consol is Graph2"
Pressing "Tab" on the keyboard (to initiate automatic monitor selection) just brought up a new LCD message
"INT 9C82: EXT IO cnfg mon type 2"
but the monitor remained in stand-by.
USB keyboard and mouse are connected, so the console is not set to the serial port.
The monitor is ok, because it works on an older machine.
In the instant ignition system information I found that the driver for the graphic card is "graph3". Can this be a problem?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Florian

Re: no monitor on boot-up - C1000
I had the same problem with B1000 and C3000.
These machines can use A4033 monitor and VESA monitor.
You can select either type with tte tab key at boot, but as it take s
a certain time for the monitor to warm up from stand by, you cannot see the message and it passes to the following one.
One way is to press tab, then enter, then y, and let the station boots.
If it does not work, reboot by a telnet the station and redo the process
by press twice tab, etc ...
Another way is to attach a VESA monitor or a srerial terminal and configure manually the monitor type.
I do not remember exactly the steps for each way, so what I said earlier may not be precise.
I you want more info, I can do the trial on my station and tell you more.

Re: no monitor on boot-up - C1000
Hi Gerard,
thanks, it works now.
What I did:
I connected a notebook with a serial cable, disconnected
the keyboard and started a terminal program on the notebook.
Then I was able to change the monitor from a VESA type to the appropriate one.
Thank you for your help!
Flo
