Not able to boot
Hi
I am using K class server. In that server the root disk got failed.I tried to boot through alternate path. Its got also failed. The server got hang after the message "Logical volume 64, 0x3 configured as ROOT".I tried to boot in single user mode the server hangs producing the same message.
The'dump'is placed in the failed disk.we rebooted the server through console but still not booting. We manually bounce the server but no luck.
Plz help me in this issue

Re: Not able to boot
Shalom,
Instead of single user mode I suggest:
hpux -lm
This will hopefully let you look at the system and see whats going on.
You have lost multiple disks and may not have a quorum.
It may be necessary to boot off the Core OS CD in order to diagnose this system.
You are very likely going to need to reinstall the OS or restore from Ignite backup.
Since multiple disks failed at the same time however, its possible that a controller has failed and merely replacing it will set things right. I'd open a hardware call on the system and see if they can find the failure.

Re: Not able to boot
Rajesh,
Can you paste the entire boot & error messages. Also, once you boot in LVM maintenance mode ( hpux -lm ), o/p of the following commands
a) lvlnboot -v
b) cat /stand/bootconf
c) strings /etc/lvmtab
d) setboot
e) ioscan -fnC disk
May be you need to redefine the LVOLs.
