Not able to communicate (ping/rsh/ssh) from one side.

Hi,
I have installed a machine with 11.31 Sept 2008, machine is coming up and I am able to ping to all the machines from this particular node.

But when I do a ping or try to telnet/rsh/ssh from other machines of my network I am unable to do so.

I have checked the network settings IP/gateway/DNS, all seems to be working fine but I don't understand why my machine is not ping able from my netwrok.

have you talked to your firewall administrators yet ?

from ONE of the other machines, run command

traceroute X.Y.W.Z

where X.Y.W.Z is the IP of your 11.31 box and see at which address it starts timing out

do the same in the reverse direction, i.e.. from the 11.31 box to the same ONE server and see if the packets are taking the same route.

please post the traceroute outputs from both cases above here, as well as the output of command

netstat -rn

here, so that you can get more meaningful answers

Thanks for your input, I am able to solve the issue. There were some network issues which I have corrected now.
