Not able to ftp large files.... getting error "Can't build data connection: Connection timed out"

Hi,

Iam trying to copy some large files (1 GB) from my desktop (Windows XP) to one of my HPUX server. Iam getting this error "Can't build data connection: Connection timed out"

# uname -a
HP-UX HAZUXIA7 B.11.31 U ia64 3723915920 unlimited-user license

What could be the reason??

This page describes some issues that you might have with ftp yours as well.
You could try to change to passive mode or use scp (winscp for windows).

Hi,

This looks like your Windows XP network firewall or antivirus software not allowing ftp connection.

Try by disabling , Good Luck

Did you try with smaller files? Same error?

Any firewall or other security product installed on your PC?

This would be the most likely reason.
