not seeing LUN
EVA3000- HSV101 with latest firmware, and 11iv3 IA.
The server is seeing the EVA controllers, but if i assign a LUN, the server is not seeing the LUN.
1) did ioscan several times, and rebooted several, but server is still not seeing the LUN.
2) Zoning is proper on the SAN.
3) LUN masking is correct on CV EVA, with correct WWNs for the host.

Re: not seeing LUN
Have you tried insf -eC disk to create new device files.
cross check zoning again.

Re: not seeing LUN
I can say zoning is proper, thats why the server is seeing the controllers.

Re: not seeing LUN
What host type did you select when presenting the LUN - you did make sure it was HP-UX didn't you?

Re: not seeing LUN
The OS type set as HP-UX only.
The WWNs which i set are correct. They automatically appeared in CV EVA when i was creating the host in CV EVA.
I am facing this problem not just one host. All the hosts which are connected to this EVA are not seeing the LUNs from this EVA. They are seeing the EVA controller but not seeing the LUN when i assign a LUN to them.

Re: not seeing LUN
I did not see any problem with EVA. Firmware is latest.
No issue with fabric, since the server is seeing the controllers.
Not understanding what could be the problem.

Re: not seeing LUN
- FW OK.
- Switches OK.
Its very strange.... I suposed your EVA is not in production, and you can do some test.
Can you create a vdisk without problems?
its possible to delete vdisk and recreate?
how is configured eva ports?

Re: not seeing LUN
I can able to create/delete/re-create vDisks.
This time i re-initialized the EVA and created vdisks and presented, but no luck.
I did a small testing.
I removed the EVA and one host out of SAN.
I took one small 2GB 8-port SAN switch, and connected EVA, one HP-UX box and CV EVA server to this Switch. This switch is without any zoning.
rebooted HP-UX box.
But still the box is not seeing LUN. It sees only the EVA controllers.

Re: not seeing LUN
I create a host entry with for CV EVA server with type as Windows, created a vdisk and presented it, and rescanned/rebooted CV EVA server, but no luck, CV EVA server is not seeing the LUN.
"evainfo -a" say "No EVA Luns discovered"

Re: not seeing LUN
If so, check syslog for messages like 'Evpd inquiry page 83h/80h failed or the current page 83h/80h data do not match the previous known page 83h/80h data' and 'run scsimgr replace_wwid' as indicated.

Re: not seeing LUN
Seeing device types of "HSV101" generally means you are on VCS4.x. On VCS3.x the EVA3000 will show "HSV100".
So I think his firmware rev is correct...

Re: not seeing LUN
HSV101 = VCS 4.x Active/Active
HSV100 = VCS 3.x Active/Passive

Re: not seeing LUN
1.) Dump server's HBAs WWID's (fcmsutil /dev/fcdXX or /dev/tdXX)
2.) Make sure the zoned WWIDs are the servers
3.) Ensure the HostGroup WWID definitions for the server portrays the correct Server HBAs... OR Delete Current HostGroup and Re-Create to ensure the EVA sees the Server's HBA WWIDs from the "pull down" and not just simply TYPED in.

Re: not seeing LUN
Found the cause for this problem. This issue happening because of none of battery modules are in a working state.
