Now that I have gnome installed?

I was wondering what configurtion changes I needed to bring up the gnome desktop?

I'm connecting with Hummingbird on a Win2K box.

Thanks. Points as always, liberally awarded.

Re: Now that I have gnome installed?

Okay, that post I found worked great.

Anyone have an idea on how to make the gnome desktop transparent, like I used to do with cde?

Boy, am I having fun today.

Steve

Re: Now that I have gnome installed?

I will admit to missing one cde feature so far.

I miss the term win where you select and drag text and all of the sudden, its on the command line.

that was cool.

Steve

Happy Holiday all who have them.

Re: Now that I have gnome installed?

Steve,

I don't know if you're still having issues or not - but there are install instructions available for the ximian gnome 1.4 package on the software depot. See:

http://www.software.hp.com/products/GNOME/doc.html

These instructions include implementation steps and also talk about reverting back to CDE so you can switch back and forth.
