Hi all,
Good morning....
I hv nullified /var/adm/messages yesterday due to space constrains. However after that, none of the messages are getting logged to /var/adm/messages.I tried with 'logger' no luck, but syslog is getting updated with recent messages.. /var/adm/messages carries yesterday's time stamp./etc/syslog.conf file is also pasted here for ur reference..I hv also restarted syslogd.

# ll /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 32605 Feb 23 14:24 /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
auth.debug /var/adm/sulog
*.info;auth,daemon,lpr,mail,news,syslog,uucp.none /var/adm/messages
*.info;auth,news,user,uucp.none /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log

Re: nullifying /var/adm/messages
Hi,
what I did on my machine:
cp /dev/null /var/adm/messages
kill -HUP `cat /var/run/syslog.pid`
logger TEST
That seemed to work.
