why are there old terminals in the system?
$ who -a | grep DANIELAM | grep -v pts/te
DANIELAM pts/tb Aug 4 17:55 0:04 18184 id= tb term=0 exit=0
DANIELAM pts/tc Aug 4 17:38 0:20 27385 id= tc term=0 exit=0
DANIELAM pts/td Jan 27 15:52 old 24588 id= td term=0 exit=0
DANIELAM pts/0 Feb 28 22:41 old 7204 id= 0 term=0 exit=0
DANIELAM pts/1 Feb 28 22:41 old 3424 id= 1 term=0 exit=0
how can i kill them?

Solution
Hi:
The 'who' command examines entries made in '/etc/utmp'. This file is cleared at reboot. It is not uncommon for entries to persist for abnormally terminated sessions, as for example when a a PC user simply closes an terminal emulator session un-gracefully.
