Omniback II, DLT Library and Barcode support

I read from page 43 of Omniback Administration Guide (motif user interface, manual edition 3 - May 2000)
(Omniback version A.03.50)
---------------
Activating Barcode Support
[...]
Quickly scanning the media in the slots of the library repository using the media barcodes. This is considerably faster than scan of a repository without the barcode functionality. In the "Action" menu, click "Barcode scan" to the library repository for media.
[...]
---------------------------------------------
I've activated the barcode support as written in same page manula at point 1,2,3 but I can't reach to find "Barcode Scan"

With a barcode scan omniback read only barcode label without read the medium label?
How can I do a "Barcode Scan"?

Thank You

Re: Omniback II, DLT Library and Barcode support

Hi,

At GUI 'Devices & Media Management' select your DLT SCSI-II Library, open the 'Edit' menu and select 'Manage'
You will get a new window where at the 'Edit' menu the selection 'Barcode scan' should appear.
You can also do a barcode scan with command line:
omnimm -repository_barcode_scan

Re: Omniback II, DLT Library and Barcode support

Hi,

another way: When you use the Gui for NT, we access the "Barcode scan" at the menu "Devices & Media/ Devices / DLT-Library" with the right mouse button.

There are often differnt between the Gui for X and for NT.

Example:
When you want to recover parallel Filesystems, you can acess it only on the X-Gui.
Do you want to change the notification you must use the NT-Gui.
