kind of a strange question but here goes..... I need to extend a filesystem on the fly (I should have created it as 8 Gb but didn't the disks are all in the VG). I know we can use Advanced Vxfs. This particular machine only has the standard VXFS (mirror UX). We have a licence for Advanced VXFS earmarked for another box but not yet installed. My question is
if I install Advanced VXFS & extend the file system Online then remove the Advanced VXFS, will it cause a problem or will 'standard' vxfs continue to handle the file system as
normal?
Cheers

Re: Online JFS
In my opinion this is not the best way.
As you will install On-line JFS you will have to install kernel patches as well.
So you have to reboot anyway.
I would not suggest to remove On-line JFS afterwards you will get stuck with left overs in kernel and patches.

Re: Online JFS
Thanks, but I will succeed some day.
Might be today if someone asks a nice question.
