Oracle 10g clusterware fails to identify Shared CFS directory

In a two nodes enviroment, I have setup MC Serviceguard and it is up and running(including packages) as indicated in cmviewcl -v. The vxdisk list of two nodes are:
[aptshk01:/] vxdisk list
DEVICE TYPE DISK GROUP STATUS
c2t0d0 auto:LVM - - LVM
c2t1d0 auto:LVM - - LVM
c3t2d0 auto:LVM - - LVM

c6t0d0 auto:none - - online invalid
c8t0d1 auto:LVM - - LVM
c8t0d2 auto:cdsdisk c8t0d2 dgrac online shared

In the installation Oracle clusterware, in the stage of "Specify Oracle Cluster Registry (OCR) Location", I specified the OCR Location to a share cfs directory. When go Next, an oracle error occures saying the entered location is not shared across all the nodes in the cluster, the screen capture is attached for reference. But I checked the directory and the file was created and both nodes could see it. Does anyone has any clue of what went wrong? Thanks in advance.

Re: Oracle 10g clusterware fails to identify Shared CFS directory

It is my understanding that 10GR2 supports CFS.. You should have been asked about a vote disk

I think the prompt for a OCR location is from 10GR1 which supports RAC under SLVM not CFS.

What version RAC are you using.. Good luck

Re: Oracle 10g clusterware fails to identify Shared CFS directory

How is the distribution of OCR and vote disks? Is the cluster name

is the cluster name(10g cluster) is getting resolved from both the nodes.

Whic HP-UX version do you have

Re: Oracle 10g clusterware fails to identify Shared CFS directory

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. The cluster names are resolved from both nodes and HP-UX 11.23 PA-RISC. I have checked metalink and it says HP Serviceguard Extension for RAC is supported for 11.23. The cluster file system of veritas is also supported. So I don't think there is a compatability issue.
