Re: Oracle going to stop further release on Itanium
if you are Oracle DB Centric -- the move to Linux should not be that difficult using Oracle TTS or even RMAN.
If your are VxVM Centric -- your skills set should still work exactly on Linux sir. It will also help with your Oracle db conversion since VxVM/VxFS has CDS for moving data to Linux.
HP is the last Itanium Man Standing as I warned in various posts here in ITRC. Microsoft and RHEL earlier made similar annoucements anbout cessation of further support on the Itanou Chip... Oracle is the very last one of the major ISVs to withdraw support -- and everyone seems to be rattled big time.
Favourite Toy:
AMD Athlon II X6 1090T 6-core, 16GB RAM, 12TB ZFS RAIDZ-2 Storage. Linux Centos 5.6 running KVM Hypervisor. Virtual Machines: Ubuntu, Mint, Solaris 10, Windows 7 Professional, Windows XP Pro, Windows Server 2008R2, DOS 6.22, OpenFiler

Re: Oracle going to stop further release on Itanium
If you are HPUX/Itanum centric: HP will help to migrate your database to DB2/Sybase !!
