Solution2) you can install from DVD, from depots (via ignite) or from ignite (golden) image
3) this depends on disk/RAM size and OS version and application requirements ...

All of the installation methods will default to the recommended file system sizes upon loading the OS. You have the opportunity to change these during the build process.

since you didn't specify any other parameters but the number of users, here is a one-liner to create 100 users:
# i=1;while [ "$i" -lt "101" ];do useradd user${i};i=$(($i+1));done
the users will be named user1 trough user100. IMHO this has no use but to demonstrate the power of scripting...
