OS Support in Virtual Environment

Can someone tell me if it's possible to install HP-UX 11.11 as a guest OS. We have a very old application and need to look at migrating from Physical to Virtual.

Re: OS Support in Virtual Environment

No, this doesn't work. 11.11 is for RISC systems only.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: OS Support in Virtual Environment

11.11 is for PA-RISC systems only.

HPVM runs on Integrities only.

Hope this helps!

How old? You might be able to run the application under Aries on Integrity.

Thanks for the replies, one more question. What is the oldest version of HP-UX that will sit on a VM?

Re: OS Support in Virtual Environment

Minimum guest version for HPVM4.1 is HP-UX 11i v2 September 2006 or any HP-UX 11i v3.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: OS Support in Virtual Environment

Thanks Torsten, Can you point me in the direction of some documentation. I need to report to my IT Director and he's not likely to accept that I got the information on a forum.

Re: OS Support in Virtual Environment

All the docs are just moved and it is not possible to send a direct link.

Brand new (with out notes yet):
