Panic installing HPUX on Virtual Machine guest.
Hi,
Doing an HPUX 11.23 install onto a Virtual Machine guest I get the same panic as in the following thread.
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1082646
Bad News: Cannot use the Kernel Stack when interrupted on the ICS.
******************************************************************************

reg_dump(): Displaying register values (in hex) from the save state at
ssp e0000001_0001f800 return_status/reason/flags 0000/005e/00000001
Interruption type: Unimplemented Instruction Address Trap
....
However I get the panic on an rx2600 and an rx5670, which are older platforms. But not so
far on an rx7620.
I've tried to install MOE 11.23, FOE 11.23
July 2006.
The panic happens intermittantly dvd and ignite.
The VM Hosts are running 11.23 Sept 2006, and
VM 1.20
Thanks in advance,
Heather

Re: Panic installing HPUX on Virtual Machine guest.
Hi Heather,
I think you will have to log a call with HP.
As far as I remember this issue is fixed in the HPVM V2 (2.00).
I would suggest to download the trial version and install it and check if it works fine.
Regards,
Abhijit

Re: Panic installing HPUX on Virtual Machine guest.
How to I install the trial version on HPVM 2.0? It will not install if T2767AC is installed. However there are dependencies which make removing T2767AC nontrival.
Please advise.

Re: Panic installing HPUX on Virtual Machine guest.
On rx2600 and rx5670, try by setting npar mode on VM host at EFI using
Shell:> parconfig nPars
Shell:> parconfig reset
and then boot it and try installing guest thereafter.
