parsing io.info file fails

whenever i am booting the machines from myignite server by # bootsys -v -R 11.31 , i am getting the following in
/var/opt/ignite/clients/0x0017087C793A/install.log

ERROR: phy_unit_init: Layout version "2.1" of the file
"/var/opt/ignite/clients/0x0017087C793A/io.info" is not known by this
parser.
ERROR: Unable to read the
/var/opt/ignite/clients/0x0017087C793A/io.info database.

ERROR: itool must exit; please consult the client log file.

The user interface failed, would you like to restart it? ([y]/n): *
Response was: n

Invalid response, enter 'y' or 'n'
The user interface failed, would you like to restart it? ([y]/n): *
Response was: n

ERROR: Cannot continue since the UI failed.
NOTE: System rebooting...


How to solve this issue ?

perhaps your ignite version is not new enough to support 11.31?

Ignite-UX-11-23 C.6.10.97 HP-UX Installation Utilities for Installing 11.23 Systems

If it is not supported . can you tell me how to upgrade its version ?

Torsten is correct. C.6.10.x revision of Ignite does not support 11.31.

Only C.7.x and later revisions do. The latest revision available for (free) download is C.7.1.93 (Feb07) here: http://www.docs.hp.com/en/IUX/download.html

I have installed the latest ignite as shown below

I am still facing the same issue. I am getting the following error as below

What model machine are you trying to Ignite? What OS are you trying to install? 11.31 is not supported on all older models or SCSI cards.

Check 11.31 compatibility.

What bundle did you install - for 11.23 only or the complete package of all 4 bundles?
If you haven't the bits for 11.31 you cannot install a 11.31 client.

Hi I am trying to Install 11.31 into both PA as well as IA machines. My ignite machine is 11.23.

I have the 11.31 Bits installed in my ignite server. It was working before but suddenly the issue came up.

If you are Igniting from a depot, did someone update the depot?

Did someone attach new storage devices that may not supported in 11.31?

Nothing was changed. Only while troubleshooting we deleted the /var/opt/ignite/clients directory contents.

I don't think this should affect anything !!

It is definitely erroring out trying to parse /var/opt/ignite/clients/0x0017087C793A

Try this additional option on your bootsys call: "-f". This forces the install to ignore the client directory settings.

Perhaps someone ignited an older release, with different IO parameters. Not sure.

If that does not work, I think you last resort is a service call to HP.

Yes i tried with -f option but it still it fails.

I am not sure why this is happening ? Probably will open a case with HP ..
