password change
hi
I want to change the root password in hpux-11.00.It also acts as a NIS server.I typed the following command to change the passwd.
#passwd root
It is not asking for old passwd.(for ex:enter old passwd)
It is giving the following message
#changing password for root
New password:
I typed the new passwd, then password changed.
Now i would be able to access only with the new passwd. But i am able to access both old passwd and new passwd, how is that possible, can anyone help me in this issue.

Re: password change
Shalom,
When you are logged in as root and type the passwd command you are not prompted for the old password. The OS is smart enough to realize you have already given it. This is a feature of HP-UX 11.00 (Out of support BTW)
ypmake
That will push passwords out.
