Re: password file got corrupted
My password file got corrupted and i couldn't able to login to my system with any user?
Restart you server into single user and check if you have any backup copy of passwd file .
if you have then replace with passwd and reset root passwd again.
then do init 3

Re: password file got corrupted
console login as root should work.
From there, you can rebuild /etc/passwd or the trusted system files enough to bring the system up to restore the reset.
Assuming you have them backed up.
