I have a very solid question here. We are applying the Dec2001 Patch bundle for 10.20. From an HP perspective, is there an order for applying the patches and what is HP's reasoning behind this?
Please advise?

Re: Patch Bundle Upgrading
Vito,
swinstall is smart enough to do all that thinking for us. It will only apply pathes that match what the target has, and ones that superceed the current patch state. Of course this can be changed, but you really don't want to do that in most cases. So if you are applying the December 2001 patch bundle and you happen to have a February 2002 patch on there, swinstall will not install that patch. So to answer your question more directly, they want patches installed that only superceed (as should you). This not only saves them customer service time, but it save you time and a lot of headaches as well.
At least that is my take on it all.
