Patch comparison between two systems

Hi,

I want to do patch comparison between two systems. I can run show-patches script on both the systems and can write shell script to capture the difference.

Is there any script already available so I can spare my time?

Thanks.

Re: Patch comparison between two systems

Just use the 'swlist' command.

# swlist -l patch

See the man page for 'swlist' for further options. Once you have captured the information, simply do a 'diff' on the two output reports.

You could try the custom patch manager on the HP website, I've found it useful for comparing systems before. You need the old "collect.sh" script.

cpm_collect.sh

You can find it at the Custom Patch Manager under the IT resource center home->more.

I'd provide the link but because it's tied to a SID, it's only good for a short time, follow this:

"IT resource center home"

then

"maintenance and support"

then

customized patch bundles (custom patch manager)
