Patch install

hello All,

I am trying to apply the HP patch bundles on all servers. This includes the GOLDQPK11i_B.11.11.0712

but when i try to install i am getting an error for the patch PHSS_32734 saying the dependecies cannot be resolved. This patch is part of the GOLD pack bundle.

Is there any way i can exclude this patch?.

please help

Re: Patch install

Hi George,

this patch is for product
Cluster Object Manager B.03.00.00

Do you have this product installed?

How do you install the bundle (command line)?

Do you get an error or just a warning (exact phrase of the message)?

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Patch install

hello

We have service gaurd runing on the server.

I am trying to install through swinstall and the analysis phase compltes with errors. I do a manage patch selection and select the option "Autiomatically selct what is on the target"

from the logfile

The corequisite "PHSS_36466.CM-CORE,fa=HP-UX_B.11.11_32/64" for fileset "PHSS_32734.CM-OM,r=1.0" cannot be successfully resolved.
ERROR: The dependencies for fileset "PHSS_32734.CM-OM,r=1.0" cannot
be resolved (see previous lines). â You must resolve the above dependencies before operating on d â width.
this fileset or change the "enforce_dependencies" option to
"false".

Re: Patch install

Hi George,

Check for software corruption

swlist -l fileset -a state |grep -v -e '^#' -e configured

Check swagent log.

Use swverify \* to check installed bundles.

Revertback with update.

Sudhakar.

Re: Patch install

Hi again

no need to bundle it with the GOLDPK.
Just download and install that dependency patch. then install the GOLDPK.

Re: Patch install

Dear George

while u are downloading it will select dependencies also, ok once u downloade this one in one u dir in unix for example

this will come with there is script ./create_d...... etc
execute this create first for creating depot

Re: Patch install

Shalom,

The patch is excluded automatically.

Just do this:

swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x reinstall=false -s \*

Let the patches fall where they may.
