Patch Level 11.0042

How do I determine which patches I require to get from HP-UX 11.0000 to 11.0042 ?

The patch level normally determined by checking the patch bundle release date or the version. HP releases different bundles in each quarter. If you want to update your system with the latest one, check here:

http://www.software.hp.com/SUPPORT_PLUS/

The 11.00.00 and 11.00.42 are different versions of patches that were released. You can download the latest one from the site and install it. Update it when new releases comes or do a custom patch analysis for your system. It doesn't hurt to have the latest installed instead of sticking with a particular version.

Thank you for this information, however it does not answer the question.

I need to go to 11.0042 not the latest. Is there a tool to determine the patch bundle to get to 11.0042 ?

I don't think there is a tool to update your patches to the specific version - 11.00.42. There is a tool available on the above site called CPM (Custom patch manager) that will help you to pick up the patches needed for your environment. This will help you update the system to the latest version with custom patches.

The tool to update patches is "swinstall". Could you tell us why do you want to stick with a specific version? Are you looking for any specific patch? Any specific bundle?

The software running on this machine was validated with this particular version.

We cannot vailidate if it would be supported under any other later version.
