PCI Mux (AD278A)
I have installed a PCI 8 port serial mux in my new RP3410, then installed the mux software, rebuilt the kernel, and rebooted the system.
I have verified that the mux has been claimed...
# ioscan -fnCtty
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
=====================================================================
tty 2 0/3/1/0 pci_mux1 CLAIMED INTERFACE PCI SimpleComm (114f0058)
/dev/diag/mux2 /dev/tty2a1 /dev/tty2a5
/dev/diag/mux2_1 /dev/tty2a2 /dev/tty2a6
/dev/diag/mux2_2 /dev/tty2a3 /dev/tty2a7
/dev/mux2 /dev/tty2a4 /dev/tty2a8
Is there a way to further test the mux to verify if it is working? I don't have much in the way of modems and phone lines for use. The devices that it will be supporting are currently in production on the old system.
TIA

Re: PCI Mux (AD278A)

Re: PCI Mux (AD278A)
more null modem cables, then use "cu" to use
one port to talk to another.

Re: PCI Mux (AD278A)
you could try emux_diag software? part of the term-IO software. or configure a terminal on a port

use "cu" to see if you can see what you type.

Re: PCI Mux (AD278A)
my mistake, for your card in 11i v2 you use pmux_diag not the emux_diag for the older cards.
emux_diag works for both the eisa and pci cards in earlier versions
http://docs.hp.com/en/AD278-9002C/ch02s01.html?btnNext=next%A0%BB
you should have this as part of the pcimux s/w installed
