Performance Degradation with application using IPlanet 4.1 Enterprise Web Server
I have a performance issue with a web application that uses IPlanet 4.1 Enterprise Web Server and HP-UX 11.0. The web server uses a servlet proxy to redirect traffic to an application server to provide a logical three tier application (web server, app server, db server). We connect to this environment through multiple firewalls, routers and VPN using burstable T-1. The performance starts out great with 10-15 users then after about 10-15 minutes all of the users start to halt and finally have to reset their browsers. We have eliminated everything but the OS, Web Server, Servlet Proxy combination. We don't see any performance issues with any of the individual components. Any suggestions on where to look for the problem? What tools to use?

Re: Performance Degradation with application using IPlanet 4.1 Enterprise Web Server
If you don't have Glance installed, install it. There is a 30 or 90 day trial on the Application CDs. I believe it is on the first CD.
Once Glance is installed, when performance degrades, you can look and see what processes are running and how much memory and CPU they are using.
This should be a good start to determining what the culprit is.
