Performance issue with sockets

Hey everyone.

I have a performance issue here.
I have two servers 92 and 93 both B.11.11. They are identical software ( OS and applications ) and hardware.
The problem is we have is that the sockets remain open longer on 92 which keeps more threads consumed and puts more pressure on CPU..

THe weblogic and apache settings have been checked. I have also checked kernel params, ndd settings. And everything is identical.

Is there anything else that would cause this?

Thanks
Richard

Re: Performance issue with sockets

Shalom Richard,

Bad NIC card, or incorrect switch port settings could cause this problem, assuming your check on other items was thorough.

I recommend a thorough hardware check and a check with the folks in network administration.

landadmin check is a good idea also.

Everything is fine in lanadmin.

It all matches up.

Re: Performance issue with sockets

Did you check the switch settings to make sure you're "lined up." ? While your n/w admin is in the switch, ask him/her to review the number of bad packets on that port. Lot's o' grunts n' runts would indicate that you've got a misalignment b/w the two, or a bad NIC card.
